About the event
At this event you will learn all about the history and technique for making Belgian pies. 4th generation Belgian/American, Gina Guth shares her mom’s recipe. Her ancestry includes the surnames; Lardinois, Rouer, De Villers, Lu Maye, and Vandertie to name a few.
Since she began teaching in 2010, thousands of people have learned the art of Belgian Pie making that was brought to this country by Belgian/American Immigrants in the mid 1800's.
This event is different than the full class in that all ingredients (dough, filling, and topping) will be made ahead of time. At the event, you will be guided in how to press the dough in the pan, how to fill, top and bake.
While baking, you will be shown a presentation about the Belgian Heritage.
All ingredients are provided for you to make a 9” Belgian pie of your choice.
Flavors include apple, raisin, cherry, poppyseed…
